Ellen Perlow (left photo), current chair of the American Library Association [ALA] ASCLA Division Century Scholarship Committee, exhibited at the 3rd Annual American Library Association Diversity Fair, ALA Annual-Chicago, Saturday, July 8, 2000, 3-5 pm in the McCormick Place Convention Center, South Building 401. Among the features of the exhibit were handouts, an interactive display of assistive technology, and the "Celebrating a New Century that Celebrates Diversity" banner which many attendees signed with their [inspiring] thoughts about celebrating diversity. Former Century Scholarship Committee Chair Lisa Scholl and Committee member, Elizabeth Ridler (right photo), both Century Scholarship Jury members wearing their red and yellow Century Scholarship ribbons, stopped by the exhibit to celebrate diversity and the awarding (on the next day, July 9th) of the very first Century Scholarship to #1 Century Scholar Rebecca Van Scyoc of Elgin, Illinois. Congratulations, Rebecca!
